What Is an Aeropress Recipe?
Aeropress is one of the most intricate coffee brewing methods. However, learning this art and mastering hardly requires a few trials before you can brew the perfect Aeropress.
Coming to the description of the Aeropress brewing method, it is similar to the espresso brewing process as its name suggests. Aeropress is the process of extracting coffee grounds by introducing pressurized water through the grounds. To say the least, the coffee brewing process which introduces pressurized water to coffee grounds is one of the espressos.
In this case, the brewer has to drive the manual plunger in the Aeropress tool where coffee grounds and water are pre-infused. Movement of the plunger defines the pressure of the water that passes through the coffee grounds. In the end, a paper filter sitting on the opposite of the plunger will filter the extracted coffee grounds delivering the Aeropress coffee.
Using the Aeropress Apparatus
Here, you will learn to brew the coffee using the Aeropress step by step. Moreover, this method is has gained popularity for the inverted stance known as Inverted Aeropress method. Go through the Aeropress instructions given below.
1. Rinsing the Apparatus and Drying
Starting with the first and foremost important step, you shall wash or rinse the Aeropress cleaning it thoroughly. It will not only eliminate leftovers but the microcontaminants. Not to mention, you cannot proceed with brewing the coffee in the Aeropress if the apparatus is damp or moist. As it can sabotage the process with improperly sealing the Aeropress.
2. Grinding Coffee Beans
Here comes the actual coffee brewing process, you need to have an Aeropress grinder or the pre-ground coffee.
Having said that, you shall set the grinding level to a little coarse or a little finer level which is suitable for Aeropress machine. However, it is up to you to vary the grind size to make the Aeropress according to your choice. Because not a single brewing guide restricts the brewer from experimenting with the ratios.
3. Filling the Coffee Grounds in the Aeropress
After grinding the coffee beans, you need to put fill it in the Aeropress container. Generally, the experts weigh the grounds to ensure the correctness of the coffee ratio. On the contrary, you can prefer the 15 grams grounds for a single shot if you want. Otherwise, trusting your senses and taking reference of the volumetric assumptions is sufficient.
Distribute the coffee evenly in the Aeropress to allows uniform infusion with the water. This leads us to the next step for brewing the coffee.
4. Pouring Water
Adding to the above topic, you need to add warm water keeping the Aeropress temperature nearly 200° F to infuse the coffee grounds in the water. You need to use water weighing or twice as much as the coffee or twice the volume for simplicity.
To add to the intricacy of the brewing process, you need to fill the water keeping the filter cap with the filter paper in it.
It will not only filter the water which ends up in the Aeropress but also glues the filter paper to the cap. Thereafter, stirr the water-coffee mixture and attach the filter cap letting the mixture infuse for about 30 seconds(set the Aeropress timer).
5. Turn the Apparatus Upside Down
Now, place the mouth of the coffee cup or serving kettle on the filter cap in upside-down position. Thereafter, invert the whole arrangement i.e. the coffee cup gets upright and the Aeropress gets in an upside-down stance.
6. Press the Plunger to Pour the Coffee Out
Lastly, hold your breath and push the plunger downwards to pour the extracted coffee into the coffee mug. The pressure at which you push the plunger will have minute impacts on the brew quality. Hence, apply a uniform pressure to brew the Aeropress in a perfect way.
THE ENDNOTE
Brewing the espresso shot from an Aeropress machine is not a big deal once you learn using the perfect coffee-water ratio.
